Syensqo Launches New PPA to Empower Integrated Upgrading of Automotive Electric Drive Systems
2026-04-13

April 9, 2026 – Syensqo, a global leader in specialty materials and chemicals, has unveiled Amodel® PPA HFFR 4130 CN, a material specifically designed for through-housing busbars in integrated electric drive systems. Boasting exceptional thermal shock resistance, ATF corrosion resistance and flame retardancy, this product facilitates the integrated and efficient transformation of electric vehicle (EV) drive systems.

As motor power density continues to rise and fast-charging technologies gain widespread adoption, the connection mode of electric drive systems is rapidly shifting from traditional wiring harnesses to through-housing busbars. This trend not only streamlines assembly processes but also significantly enhances the reliability of electrical connections and overall system efficiency. Developed to meet the demanding application requirements of through-housing busbars under harsh operating conditions, Amodel® PPA HFFR 4130 CN delivers a more reliable and efficient connection solution for electric drive systems. Its core performance advantages include:

  • Chemical Corrosion Resistance: After 1,000 hours of aging testing in high-temperature ATF fluid, the material retains 75% of its performance properties, greatly improving component durability in ATF environments.
  • Mechanical Properties & Retention: Tensile strength and flexural modulus show nearly no degradation in high-temperature and high-humidity environments, with an elongation at break measured at over 2.3% – significantly outperforming conventional flame-retardant PPA materials. This feature delivers superior thermal shock and fatigue resistance, effectively withstands mechanical stress from road spectrum vibration, and further extends component service life.
  • Flame Retardancy: Certified to UL94 V0, it meets the flame-retardant requirements of EV high-voltage systems, providing solid protection for battery and vehicle safety.
  • Ease of Processing: Featuring better flowability and surface finish than conventional flame-retardant PPA, it reduces injection molding complexity. With a wide processing temperature range of 290–340℃C and excellent glass fiber dispersion, it enables efficient production of complex and thin-walled parts, balancing design freedom and manufacturing efficiency.

Tianjian Longwei, a leading domestic supplier of three-electric system components, has taken the lead in adopting Amodel® PPA HFFR 4130 CN for busbars in its new-generation electric drive systems. Ms. Gao Jing, Marketing Director of Tianjian Longwei, stated: "Amodel® PPA HFFR 4130 CN from Syensqo effectively addresses the current performance and processing pain points of through-housing busbars. We are using this new material for large-scale production of relevant components to meet end-customer demands."

"Syensqo has always kept a close eye on developments in the automotive industry and continuously invested in local R&D and testing resources in China. The launch of Amodel® PPA HFFR 4130 CN further strengthens Syensqo’s technological leadership in specialty polymers. It not only meets the stringent performance requirements for integrated design of electric drive systems but also reduces manufacturing costs by optimizing processability, providing the industry with more competitive solutions," said Pan Yu, Automotive Marketing Manager of Syensqo Greater China.
