April 3, 2026 – BASF and Qiteng Robotics have formally signed a cooperation memorandum.

Under the memorandum, both parties will jointly explore the application of Qiteng Robotics’ products and intelligent inspection solutions at BASF facilities, supporting digitalization and automation in the chemical industry with a focus on key safety-critical application scenarios.

The two sides will also conduct material innovation cooperation for core robotic components. Leveraging BASF’s extensive expertise in specialty materials including engineering plastics, thermoplastic polyurethanes and polyurethane systems, they will focus on unlocking the potential of material technologies in the lightweight design of quadruped robots and humanoid robots. Continuous advancements in material performance will strongly support performance optimization and iterative upgrades of robotic products.
