June 26, 2026 – SI Group, a global leading developer and manufacturer of high-performance additives, process solutions and chemical intermediates, and Shengxiao Group, a premier global enterprise specializing in liquid crystal polymer (LCP) monomers and specialty chemicals, jointly announced the official establishment of their joint venture to accelerate the capacity construction and business development of biphenol in China.
Representatives from Shengxiao Group and SI Group attended the signing ceremony of the joint venture on June 25.
The newly founded joint venture, named Shengnuo New Materials (Sichuan) Co., Ltd., is located in Guang'an, Sichuan Province, China, and will focus on the production of high-quality biphenol products. The joint venture integrates Shengxiao Group’s mature biphenol production facilities and regional market resources, as well as SI Group’s proprietary technologies and global professional expertise in the biphenol sector. Through complementary advantages of both parties, the new venture will substantially enhance local biphenol supply capacity in China to better meet the growing market demand.
Biphenol is a core monomer for high-performance materials including liquid crystal polymers (LCP) and polyphenylsulfone (PPSU), and is widely applied in the electronics, automotive, medical and other industries. Driven by the sustained growth in demand for next-generation high-performance materials, the establishment of the joint venture will further bolster the development of downstream industries and deliver more stable and reliable supply guarantees for global customers.
