July 1, 2026 – Surventis (formerly BASF Coatings) has successfully completed its carve-out from BASF and officially commenced operations as an independent company. With annual sales of €3.9 billion and approximately 10,700 employees, Surventis is one of the world‘s leading suppliers of automotive coatings and surface treatment solutions. The company is majority-owned by funds advised by global investment firm Carlyle (NASDAQ: CG) in partnership with the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), while BASF retains a 40% stake in Surventis.
Surventis’ corporate brand was also unveiled today. The brand identity is built on a foundation of scientific excellence, a continuous drive for innovation, and the entrepreneurial spirit of a newly independent company. It aims to lead the industry through technological leadership and close collaboration with partners. The company‘s new website is now live at www.surventiscoatings.com.
Under its new corporate name and brand, Surventis will continue to develop, manufacture, and sell coatings and surface treatment solutions for industrial, automotive, and refinish customers worldwide. Its portfolio includes well‑known brands such as Chemetall®, Glasurit®, and R‑M®, and it will continue to offer high‑performance, sustainable solutions.

Experienced management team
Surventis will be led by an Executive Committee headed by CEO Jens Luehring.
