Recently, L’Oréal and startup Dioxycle announced the signing of a multi-year offtake agreement to convert captured industrial carbon emissions into high-performance sustainable packaging materials. This move represents a key step forward in L’Oréal’s “L’Oréal for the Future” sustainability initiative, and is poised to spark a carbon revolution in the consumer packaged goods industry. Established in 2021, Dioxycle has developed a disruptive technology that uses renewable electricity to decompose recycled industrial carbon emissions, including carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, with water at low temperatures to produce ethylene.
