New 10,000-ton recycling production line added! Polykemi and Rondo Plast expand the application of engineering plastics recycling
2026-05-14

Over the past two years, Polykemi and Rondo Plast have invested a total of approximately 2.3 million euros to expand their plastic recycling capacity at the Swedish production base. The newly commissioned supporting facilities enable the application of Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) materials in the field of engineering plastics, while upgrading the quality of recycled materials and stabilizing raw material supply.

A new 10,000-ton-class recycling line has been launched, as Polykemi and Rondo Plast broaden the recycled application scope of engineering plastics.

New ReadyMac equipment has been put into operation at the Swedish production base, with an annual processing capacity of 2,500 tons.

The two enterprises first commissioned an Erema recycling production line with an annual capacity of 5,000 tons back in 2024. In March 2026, the base added a new ReadyMac production line, delivering an additional annual processing capacity of 2,500 tons for recycled plastics. Leveraging the new line, the enterprises can engage in the upstream processing of materials in advance and precisely formulate processing stabilizers, effectively improving the quality of recycled materials.

This investment not only expands production capacity but also further enhances the flexibility of raw material adaptation. Beyond traditional mainstream polyolefin grades such as Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene (PE), the facility is now capable of processing Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) engineering plastics including Polycarbonate (PC), Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS), Polystyrene (PS), and Polyamide (PA). Laser sorting equipment can remove impurities as fine as 100 microns, providing crucial technical support for the expansion of recyclable material categories.

Since 2024, the Erema recycling production line has maintained a stable annual recycling and processing capacity of 5,000 metric tons.

Meanwhile, Polykemi and Rondo Plast are actively exploring new raw material sources, including waste marine ropes and fishing nets, as well as discarded plastic bottles, non-woven fabrics and fiber-based plastic waste. By strengthening independent control over processing procedures, the enterprises are expected to boost the supply guarantee of qualified recycled materials and reduce external reliance on pre-processed raw materials.

This capacity expansion supports the two enterprises in keeping pace with the growing market demand for recycled materials. It also enriches their product portfolio with newly added recycled modified composite materials tailored for industrial technology applications.
