2026-03-16

March 13, 2026 – Tosoh Corporation today announced that its MDI products manufactured at the Nanyo Plant of Tosoh Corporation in Shunan, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan have been awarded ISCC PLUS certification.

In addition, Tosoh’s Yokkaichi Plant has adopted the mass balance approach in its production processes. This initiative further advances the company’s sustainability practices and supports the expanded production of products utilizing biomass and recycled feedstocks.

Tosoh Corporation is committed to complying with the latest ISCC PLUS requirements and adhering to the most up-to-date ISCC regulations. Through transparent management and continuous improvement, the company will continue to meet the expectations of society and its stakeholders. Tosoh will also promote the adoption of this certification and the supply of certified products to other companies, contributing to the development of a more sustainable society.

ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) is an international certification system designed to manage and guarantee the sustainability of biomass, recycled raw materials, and products across the entire supply chain.

The mass balance approach is a material traceability method recognized by ISCC PLUS. When producing products through a blend of biomass and other feedstocks (such as petroleum-based raw materials), this approach ensures that a defined proportion of biomass and feedstocks is allocated to specific finished products.
