Thermoplastic elastomer is an environment-friendly low-carbon composite material with the characteristics of rubber (high elasticity, compression permanent deformation, etc.) and the processing characteristics of plastics (simple process).

Due to the problems of history and usage habits, there is no uniform name for thermoplastic elastomer. In most regions, the abbreviation TPE is used to collectively refer to thermoplastic elastomer.

TPE has the properties of environmental protection, non-toxic and safety, as well as excellent coloration, soft touch, weather resistance, fatigue resistance and temperature resistance. It has excellent processing performance, and can be recycled to reduce costs. It can not only be used for secondary injection molding, coated and bonded with PP, PE, PC, PS, ABS and other matrix materials, but also can be formed separately.

TPEs (thermoplastic elastomers) that have been industrially produced in the world include styrene (SBS, SIS, SEBS, SEPS), alkene (TP0, TPV), diene (TPB, TPI), vinyl chloride (TPVC, TCPE), urethane (TPU), ester (TPEE), amide (TPAE), organic fluorine (TPF), silicone and ethylene, covering almost all fields of synthetic rubber and synthetic resin.

TPV has the heat resistance and low compression deformation properties of vulcanized rubber. It has excellent processing performance: It can be processed by injection, extrusion and other thermoplastic processing methods. It is efficient, simple and easy to operate. No additional equipment is needed. It has high fluidity and small shrinkage.

TPV is easy to process without vulcanization, which shortens the production process of rubber industry by 1/4, saves energy by 25%~40%, and improves efficiency by 10~20 times. It can be called another material and process technology revolution in rubber industry. TPV has excellent ozone resistance and weather resistance. TPV has dynamic fatigue resistance, excellent weather resistance and good wear resistance. It also has good elasticity and compression deformation resistance, environmental resistance, aging resistance equivalent to EPDM.
